Ambassador TONG Defa Highlights China’s Pledge of 30 Clean Energy Projects in Africa

Speaking at the Ghana–China Climate Summit 2025, held at the AfCFTA Auditorium in Accra on September 16, the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. TONG Defa, reaffirmed China’s strong commitment to Africa’s green development, highlighting Beijing’s pledge to deliver 30 clean energy projects across the continent as announced under the FOCAC 2024 Beijing Action Plan.

Luke Dixon joins the Africa-China Centre for Policy & Advisory as a Research Fellow in the UK.

He has recently authored two academic journal articles: “Chinese Investment and African Urbanization: A Comparative Study of Democratic and Non-Democratic ECOWAS States” and “The Impact of Chinese Special Economic Zones on Manufacturing and Employment in West Africa.”.
