The Executive Director of the Africa-China Centre for Policy & Advisory, ACCPA, Paul Frimpong, has received the first prize for the best theoretical paper on Africa-China Relations (China-Africa Dar es Salaam Consensus) for 2024.
The award was given for his paper, “Renewed Impetus: Effective Sino-Africa Think Tanks Exchange in Creating Sustainable Development,” which was selected as the best paper by the Institute of African Studies at the Zhejiang Normal University.
In this paper, Mr. Frimpong critically reviewed the global development cooperation landscape based on mutual respect, solidarity, win-win cooperation, openness, and common prosperity principles.
According to him, Africa-China relations exemplify South-South cooperation, showcasing strategic alliances that drive mutual growth and development. The Dar es Salaam Consensus reflects the collective wisdom of experts and scholars from both Africa and China, aiming to deepen cooperation and contribute to global development.
The call for papers was a follow-up to the 2024 China-Africa Think Tanks Forum, which was held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s economic and vibrant city, where over 150 scholars, researchers, and academics from China and Africa attended and delivered various speeches and interventions aimed at strengthening research and knowledge exchange between Africa and China.
