Dr. Rosemary Mnongya, a Lecturer in the Department of Business Studies, School of Earth Sciences, Real Estate, Business, and Informatics at Ardhi University in Tanzania, has been appointed as a Senior Research Fellow of the Africa-China Centre for Policy and Advisory (ACCPA).

The Africa-China Centre for Policy and Advisory is a Sino-African research and policy think tank and advisory firm. Its goal is to provide unbiased policy and market research as well as distinct points of view on Africa-China relations.

The Centre also offers strategic guidance on key issues regarding China and Africa, covering multiple sectors and industries.

Dr. Mnongya holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from St. Augustine University of Tanzania, a Master of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi in Kenya, and a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from the Capital University of Economics and Business in Beijing, China.

Her research interests are broadly in Industrial Economics, Environmental, and Energy Economics, Impact Evaluation, and the Economics of Gender.

According to Dr. Mnongya, she aims to use her role as Senior Research Fellow of ACCPA to advance Tanzania’s economic development, especially in promoting win-win cooperation between Tanzania and China.

“My interest is vested in how Tanzania can get the most from its relations with China. I see lots of opportunities to deepen the ties between the two countries across multiple sectors.”

The ACCPA recently held a one-day, fully funded training workshop for select journalists (TV, radio, newsprint, online blogs, etc.) in Dar es Salaam on China-Tanzania relations.
