The Africa-China Centre for Policy & Advisory (ACCPA) team paid a courtesy visit to the Confucius Institute at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, under the direction of our Executive Director, Paul Frimpong.

He was accompanied by Fredy Stanley, a Research Associate of the ACCPA in Tanzania.

The team was received by the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at UDSM, Prof. Xiaozhen Zhang.

The visit was a part of consultative engagement with key stakeholders in Africa/Tanzania-China relations.

The Confucius Institute at the University of Dar es Salaam (CI UDSM) was established in 2013 with the main objectives of meeting Tanzania’s growing need for understanding the Chinese language, culture, technology, and skills and increasing mutual understanding between the peoples of China and Tanzania.

The ACCPA is now doing research and advising on policy in Tanzania and the East African region, with a focus on how to build cooperation between the region and China that benefits both sides.

In the coming months, the two organizations in Tanzania will work together on projects and programs that will help strengthen ties between Tanzania and China.
