The Africa-China Centre for Policy and Advisory, ACCPA, was among key think tanks in Africa invited to participate in this year’s commemorative event for the International Day of Peace in Jinan, Shandong Province, China.

The event, organized by the Chinese People’s Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD) and the People’s Government of Shandong Province, brought together a diverse group of former political leaders, diplomats, policymakers, scholars, and international representatives.

The discussions on the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative were insightful, highlighting key international frameworks for addressing today’s global challenges. These conversations helped to strengthen multilateral ties and also reinforced our shared commitment to peace and sustainable development.

ACCPA’s Research Associate, Mercy Tedeku, attended and participated in this all-important gathering. An opportunity to engage in dialogue around peace-building efforts and explore practical ways to foster peaceful coexistence. The inspiring stories and wisdom shared by global leaders provided valuable guidance for advocates who are passionate about creating a more peaceful world.

She joined other delegates on a tour across Jinan, Weifang, Qingzhou, and Guangzhou, gaining insights into China’s technology, culture, and sustainable development.
