Ethiopia stands at a pivotal moment in its industrial journey. With abundant renewable energy, a growing manufacturing base, and rising global demand for low-carbon goods, the foundations for green industrial growth are firmly in place. Yet too many green initiatives remain trapped at pilot stage—held back by financing gaps, weak standards infrastructure, and limited export readiness.
This policy brief moves beyond diagnosis. Drawing on fresh evidence and stakeholder insights, it sets out a practical, investment-ready agenda to scale green industry and trade in Ethiopia—placing MSMEs, standards, and blended finance at the center of the transition.
