The journey of FOCAC over the past 24 years exemplifies the strength and potential of collective effort and mutual cooperation. The 9th FOCAC which was held from September 4 to 6 in Beijing, had leaders of African countries meet and discuss policies and cooperation agreements with China, with this year’s theme being, Jointly Advancing Modernization and Building a high-level China-Africa Community with a shared future.

This Dialogue seeks to bring together experts, policymakers, stakeholders and representatives from African and Chinese communities to reflect on the outcomes of the 9th FOCAC.

The dialogue will provide a platform to evaluate the outcome of the summit and how African governments approached it, assess the progress made in achieving the objectives set during the previous forums, milestone for the Global South to move forward together toward modernization, and explore strategies for enhancing cooperation in the future.

This dialogue will serve as an important platform for accessing the achievements of FOCAC and driving forward the vision of a China-Africa community with a shared future.
