Dr. Hagan Sibiri

Senior Research Fellow, Ghana

Dr. Hagan Sibiri is a Senior Research Fellow at the Africa-China Centre for Policy and Advisory (ACCPA) and a member of the Ghana Institute of International Affairs (GhIIA).

He is an expert in international relations who focuses on African-Sino relations and South-South cooperation. His work has appeared in top international peer-reviewed journals such as East Asian Community Review, Insight on Africa, Africa Spectrum, African Studies Quarterly, Harvard Africa Policy Journal, Kennedy School Review, Journal of Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies, China Quarterly of International Strategic Studies, Health Policy and Technology, Ethics, Medicine and Public Health, among others.

He holds a Ph.D. in International Politics from the prestigious Fudan University in Shanghai, a Master of Law from the University of International Business and Economics, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University for Development Studies (Ghana). In addition, he holds a Ph.D. Masterclass certificate in Economics of International Business from the University of Reading’s Henley Business School (England, UK), an Executive Education certificate in Governments in Times of Crisis from the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (Dubai, UAE), and a certificate in Advanced Training Programme for Young Diplomatic Talents from Fudan University (Shanghai, PRC).

Aside from academics, he has years of corporate and IT experience. He worked for Microsoft Global Support as a senior technical support engineer for Microsoft 365 cloud services. He is also a former student leader, serving as the chapter president of the National Union of Ghana Students and vice president of the Fudan University African Students Association.
