The Africa-China Centre for Policy and Advisory (ACCPA) successfully launched the Ghana-China Media Fellowship 2025 on Saturday, June 14, 2025, welcoming the first cohort of 15 media professionals from television, radio, print, and digital platforms across Ghana.

The twelve-week training program, held at the ACCPA Head Office in Accra, aims to deepen participants’ understanding of Ghana-China relations through expert-led lectures, immersive learning, Chinese language lessons, and industrial visits.

Speaking at the launch, Paul Frimpong, Executive Director of ACCPA and lead facilitator of the first session, remarked, “This fellowship marks a new chapter in media diplomacy. Our goal is to empower Ghanaian journalists with the tools, knowledge, and context to tell more informed stories about China and its engagement with Africa.”

Sylvia Sinkari, Projects Lead and Research Fellow at ACCPA, also emphasized the program’s relevance: “With China playing an increasingly significant role in Africa, building the media’s capacity to report accurately and critically is not just timely, but essential.”

Participants shared overwhelmingly positive feedback after the first session. Sandra Ampofoa Ofosu, News Editor at Metro TV, stated, “My sincere appreciation goes to ACCPA’s leadership for convening this impactful fellowship. It was an inspiring beginning, and I believe it will open greater doors for all of us.”
