The Africa-China Centre for Policy and Advisory (ACCPA) has successfully facilitated a series of high-level engagements in Accra for a visiting delegation from the East Asian Institute (EAI) of the National University of Singapore, as part of efforts to deepen Africa–Asia policy and academic cooperation.
The EAI delegation, comprising Dr. Chen Gang (Deputy Director), Dr. Kong Tuan Yuen (Research Fellow), and Mr. Tan Chia How (Research Associate), was in Ghana on a working visit hosted by ACCPA. The week-long visit included policy dialogue, institutional immersion, and cultural exchange, all coordinated by ACCPA’s leadership team led by Executive Director Paul Frimpong and supported by Sylvia Sinkari (Research Fellow) and Mercy Tedeku (Research Associate).
During their stay, ACCPA organized and accompanied the EAI delegation to a number of strategic meetings with key Chinese institutions and stakeholders operating in Ghana, all central to deepening China–Africa engagement:
1. Chinese Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Ghana (CECCG)
The delegation engaged with members of the CECCG to understand the scope, challenges, and opportunities of Chinese private sector investments in Ghana. The meeting offered a platform to discuss cross-regional business trends and the evolving role of Chinese enterprises in Africa’s industrialization.

The visit culminated in a diplomatic engagement with H.E. Ambassador TONG Defa, the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana. The ambassador warmly welcomed the delegation and praised the collaborative efforts of ACCPA and EAI in promoting Africa–Asia understanding. The discussion focused on trilateral cooperation, South–South collaboration, and the role of think tanks in shaping global development narratives.

“We are proud to have hosted such a distinguished delegation and to have facilitated meaningful engagements with institutions that represent the core of Ghana–China relations. This visit marks a new chapter in Africa–Asia collaboration driven by research, dialogue, and shared values.”
The EAI delegation expressed deep appreciation to ACCPA for the well-curated itinerary and affirmed their interest in deepening institutional cooperation across academic, policy, and regional platforms.
This visit reinforces ACCPA’s leadership role in bridging Africa and Asia through strategic partnerships, research, and diplomacy, setting the stage for further collaboration between leading institutions across continents.
