Overview

China’s zero-tariff policy for African countries offers Ghana expanded access to one of the world’s largest consumer markets. However, tariff-free access alone will not automatically translate into increased exports, industrial growth or stronger participation by Ghanaian businesses.

The Ghana–China Zero-Tariff Forum 2026 is a high-level, public-facing platform designed to move the conversation from policy opportunity to practical implementation. Co-hosted by the Africa-China Centre for Policy & Advisory (ACCPA) and CEIBS Africa, the Forum will bring together policymakers, exporters, businesses, financial institutions, trade-support agencies, development partners, researchers and the media.

The Forum builds on the Ghana–China Zero-Tariff Policy Roundtable, also convened by ACCPA and CEIBS Africa. While the Roundtable generated targeted policy recommendations through expert discussions and policy laboratories, the Forum will broaden the engagement—sharing key insights, strengthening public understanding and connecting Ghanaian enterprises with the institutions and knowledge needed to compete in the Chinese market.
